Tips for using lino plates - lightly scuff the surface with steel wool to give the surface a slight tooth to help the ink adhere. When working on a smaller piece, such as greeting cards, glue the lino onto a larger piece of board to prevent curling and finger cuts. If you are doing reduction printing, use a two hole punch to put holes in the base of the cardboard, place split pins through them, tape them across the back to secure and use them as a registering device. Make matching holes in your print paper & you'll be amazed how much time you save.
